Greece’s prices down

Ireland isn’t the only European country lowering its rates this year. To keep tourists coming, the Greek Parliament has reduced the VAT (value-added tax) charged to tourists by hotels from 11 percent to 6.5 percent. Even before the tax cut, average hotel rates are down 12 percent, according to American Express Travel.
