Ireland’s bad, our good

The term “zombie hotels” describes once full-to-capacity boutique sleeps dating back to Ireland’s Celtic Tiger era, when the economy soared and many a hotelier expanded. Now that the economy has tanked, rates rank among the cheapest in Europe. Average rooms in Dublin are €80; €70 elsewhere in the country. Time for that road trip.
