Style, history, savings in NYC

When two celeb hoteliers took over a 133-room hotel in NYC’s West Village, they wanted it to reflect its 1912 history when it housed Titanic survivors. The Jane is made up of a series of “cabins.” Standard and bunk-bed cabins start at US$99 and come with plenty of amenities yet not much space and shared bathrooms. For US$225 a night, the Captain’s Room is 23 square metres, comes with a private bathroom and a queen- or king-sized bed. Captain’s Rooms look onto the Hudson River.
