The holidays make everyone want to bake, but what to do if you’re a busy MD with no time for mixing, heating and cooling? You get Faith Durand’s Bakeless Sweets, published by Stewart, Tabori & Chang, that’s what. The cookbook is chockablock with 125 dessert recipes that require no time in the oven. Durand loves creamy things that can be eaten off a spoon so a chunk of the book is devoted to mousses and puddings, many which can be made in 15 minutes. Jellies — think Jell-O — made from real fruit juice are included too as are icebox cakes and pies, and cookies and bars. And, because many of the desserts don’t include flour, they’re gluten-free so even more of your guests can indulge. Here are three bakeless sweets that we’re sweet on.
