Crêpes: 50 Savory and Sweet Recipes

When Martha Holmberg’s 14-year-old peers were eating Cheetos, she and her junior high friend Tanni were eating crêpes. It’s no wonder then that as an adult, the Paris-cooking-school-trained former publisher and editor of Fine Cooking magazine just released Crêpes: 50 Savory and Sweet Recipes (Chronicle Books, 2012). As we’re sure the teenage Holmberg would have attested, crêpes are so easy — once you’ve mastered all the swirling, flipping and timing — yet much more elegant than its homey relative, the pancake. And they’re so versatile too, fitting the bill for breakfast, lunch, as an after-school snack, hors d’oeuvre with drinks, a main for dinner, even dessert. We’ve got (almost) all of those covered here and each recipes is, as promised, easy, elegant and versatile: what more could a cook want?!
