Atlanta: window to the world

The world’s busiest airport just got a second front door. Seriously. It only makes sense when you consider that 9.9 million travellers passed through Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport last year and an estimated 13 million will trample through in 2015. Besides a separate entrance for international travellers, the US$1.4 billion Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International Terminal also includes 12 new international gates bringing the total to 40. (The entire airport has 195). Most obvious is the facility’s curvy new design, the tall windows that look out onto the airfield and the public art collection valued at US$5 million.
