Body Worlds
Other installments of physician and anatomist Gunther von Hagens’ famous Body Worlds exhibits have travelled to Vancouver, Toronto and Edmonton, but Body Worlds & the Mirror of Time (October 24 to August 23, 2009) makes its world premiere at the O2 Bubble in London this fall. The exhibition includes more than 200 plastinates — real human bodies preserved through the scientific process known as plastination — and focuses on the human life cycle and how the ageing process affects the body. Specimens are obtained through a body donation program (with informed legal consent). Admission: adults £12 to £14, £9 to £10.50 for seniors and students, £8 to £9.50 for children ages six to 17, and free for children five years and under. Family tickets are £29 to £34 for two adults and two children. (011-44-208) 463-2000; www.bodyworlds.co.uk .
