A cheaper way to fly?

WestJet's new regional carrier, Encore, just announced that its first non-stop daily routes will be to Fort St. John and Nanaimo in BC and service will begin on June 24. The daily service between Calgary and Fort St. John will cost $342.70 (including taxes, fees and charges) roundtrip; the daily service from Victoria to Vancouver ($169.38) then Vancouver to Fort St. John will cost $326.18 roundtrip. Daily service between Calgary and Nanaimo will cost $408.64 roundtrip. Service will be operated by Encore’s fleet of Bombardier Q400 NextGen aircraft. The smaller aircraft are expected to make regional service more economical for the company than its current fleet of Boeing 737s. For more: [CC]
