DIY savings

Smart Destinations wants you to get more personal. The Boston company launched Go Select in May, a build-your-own attraction pass for top US destinations that can save you a lot of dough depending on the amount of activities and sights (two or more) you want to take in. The passes are available as barcodes for smart phones or they can be printed at home.

You can customize a pass for Boston, Chicago, NYC, Oahu, San Diego, San Francisco and LA. There are at least 20 attractions to choose from in each city; in NYC there are 40. Our Boston DYI pass for an Old Town Trolley Tour (regularly US$42 for one adult), a Fenway Park Tour (US$12) and a Movie Mile Walking Tour (US$20) was US$59.05, a savings of US$14.95.

Our NYC pass for Top of the Rock (regularly US$22 for one adult), the Bike and Roll Central Park Tour (US$50), and the MOMA (US$20) was US$73.34, a savings of US$18.66. smartdestinations.com/goselect.
