Back to Econ 101 for a moment: when supply outstrips demand, prices fall. Plus, a greater supply means that vacationers looking to rent a cottage or a condo in Europe this year will benefit from a wider selection than they’ve seen in the past. Rental listings websites like and have already seen big jumps in the number of rental properties available.
