Everything but the kitchen sink

London’s Heathrow Airport now includes 12 completely-private, single- and bunk-bed rooms that can be accessed by any passenger departing from or transferring through Terminal 3. The eight single and four twin rooms include a shower, small desk, 22-inch flat-screen TV, telephone and Wi-Fi. They’re said to be soundproof, but wake-up calls are not provided. Room service is available for purchase (there’s an all-day breakfast menu) as are infant cots, though if a cot will actually fit in the room, we don’t know. Operating hours are from 4:30AM to 10:30PM; a two-hour minimum is required. The rooms are not available for a full-night’s stay because of airport restrictions. A single room costs about $64 for the first two hours; twin rooms $96. Additional hours cost about $32 and $48, respectively. Terminal 3 also includes a new airport lounge (access $40), complete with a bistro, cinema and family room. To book:
