A Florida fantasy come true

Disney World’s Fantasyland, aka the land that dreams are made of, is going to almost double in size making what must be a most expensive expansion the largest in Magic Kingdom’s four-decade history. Home to five other enchanted lands and Cinderella’s castle, the Magic Kingdom will open Fantasyland in phases: Storybook Circus is open now. As its name suggests, it’ll include colourful, big-top circus tents and animal footprints too -- maybe even those of lions and tigers and bears. Rides include a Casey Jr. Splash 'N' Soak (water) Station, the Barnstormer, a roller-coaster meets stunt plane and a twice-as-big and twice-as-fast Dumbo the Flying Elephant. The Enchanted Forest opens in December. Besides Beauty and the Beast- and Little Mermaid-themed attractions, it’ll include a Seven Dwarfs Mine Train come 2014. Also new to the Kingdom: booze. Its French-themed Be our Guest resto now sells beer and wine with dinner. [CC]
