On the France track

France’s rail company, SNCF, is expected to launch its economy high-speed train network, Ouigo (ouigo.com) this month. It’ll operate between the Marne-la-Vallée Paris suburb, and Marseille and Montpellier. Tickets must be booked online with single-class, no-frill fares ranging from $13 to $111. Also set to begin in April: Spain’s direct, high-speed rail service from Madrid to Barcelona to Paris. It’ll take nine hours, but passengers will have to transfer from Spain’s AVE network (renfe.com/EN/viajeros/index.html) to France’s TGV network (sncf.com/en/trains/tgv).
