No, it’s not an oxymoron. Believe it or not, it is possible to take a (small!) bite out of the Big Apple without break The hit TV shows below all tape in NYC. They’re free to attend, but the waiting list is long so register (generally online) early.

Late Show with David Letterman
The comedy show generally tapes twice on Mondays at 4:30pm and 7pm, once on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 5:30pm, and once on Thursdays at 4:30pm, but the sched varies so confirm. (212) 975-5853; cbs.com/late_night/late_show/tickets.

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart
The late-night parody tapes Monday through Thursday at 5:45pm. Tickets are hard to come by, but you can sign-up to get emails when new dates open up. thedailyshow.com/tickets.

Saturday Night Live A hot ticket with locals and tourists alike, SNL tapes Saturdays at 11:30pm. Tickets are distributed once a year via a lottery. To enter, email snltickets@nbcuni.com in the month of August only.
