Galileo’s telescope in Philly

Get a glimpse of one of Galileo’s groundbreaking telescopes in Philadelphia this summer at the new Franklin Institute exhibition Galileo, the Medici and the Age of Astronomy. This show marks the first time the Italians have permitted one of Galileo’s two surviving telescopes to be displayed overseas in the 400 years since he first gazed upon the moon. You’d be well advised to take this opportunity to see it with your naked eye before the show packs up on September 7. Admission: adults US$20.75, seniors US$19.75, children 4 to 11 US$14.
