Go glamping in the UK this fall

The British have gone mad for the latest tourism trend: glamorous camping. Neologized as “glamping,” the practice is really camping in name only. Yurts, fancy wooden huts and refurbished VW buses, among other very cool and comfortable lodgings, serve as sleeping quarters in some of the most idyllic UK locations.

The “glamorous” aspect of the trips may make them sound expensive, but some week-long stays can go for less than $70 a night.

The website Go Glamping lists two dozen of the best glamping outfits in the UK and worldwide. Our top three picks: hip wooden “pods” in a Cornwall valley, teepees in Cumbria in the north and vintage Airstreams in the Cotswold hills —all for weekly rates of $440 to $530.
