Manhattan for just $45,000 a night

If you felt the last hotel you booked in Manhattan was a little on the pricey side, newyorkhotels.org’s list of NYC’s 10 most expensive suites might make you feel better. In first position is the Ty Warner Penthouse at the Four Seasons Hotel at US$45,000 per night, complete with four balconies, calfskin leather dressing room walls, 18th-century Japanese silk pillows, a butler, a chauffeured Rolls-Royce and basically as much opulence as they could fit in 400 square metres. If you’re feeling cheap, the second place Presidential Suite at the St. Regis, where Marilyn Monroe and Salvador Dali once lay their heads, is only US$35,000, and the downright thrifty traveller could settle for the 10th-place US$10,000 Trump SoHo Penthouse.
