A most royal visit

Want to ogle Princess Diana’s wedding gown complete with its eight-metre train? The West Edmonton Mall will host Diana, A Celebration, beginning February 9 through June 9. It’s a curious venue for such a regal show, but we’ll turn a blind eye since it’s only the second time the 15-year-old touring exhibit, on loan from the Althorp Estate aka the Spencer family’s 500-year-old ancestral home in England, has come to Canada. (The first was in 2003 to TO). In addition to Princess Di’ wedding ensemble, twenty-eight of her designer dresses will be on display as will two of her diamond tiaras, the original text of the Earl Spencer’s tribute to his sister at her funeral in Westminister Abbey and books of condolences from people worldwide. Admission: adults $27.30, kids 12 and under $18.90 or $23.10 and $14.70, respectively, Mondays to Thursdays. All proceeds go to the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund. wem.ca. [CC]
