Muppets get a museum show
Kermit, Gonzo, Miss Piggy and the rest of the gang have moved to Seattle’s Experience Music Project — an avant-garde pop museum housed in a most unusual-looking Frank-Gehry designed building — for a new exhibition called Jim Henson’s Fantastic World, until August 16. Inspect Henson’s storyboards and art and try your hand as a Muppeteer while musicians like Fozzie Bear and Dr Teeth and the Electric Mayhem play through versions of Muppets classics recorded by famous musicians, like Van Morrison’s rendition of “It’s Not Easy Bein’ Green.” As the Swedish Chef would say, that sounds “Okee-dokee!” Admission: adults US$15, kids 5 to 17 US$12, children under 4 free.
