A new Peak experience

Vermont’s Jay Peak has been around forever, but even those “Raised Jay” might not recognize it these days. The ski resort just got a facelift; not a bad idea after 57 years in the biz. Located 1.5 hours south of Montreal, 3.5 hours from our nation’s capital and seven hours from TO, the gussied-up resort now features a 176-room Hotel Jay, which includes flat-screen HD TVs, free in-room Wi-Fi, suites with either kitchenettes or fully-equipped kitchens, and three new restos. Oh, and downstairs, there’s the Pump House, a 4500-square-metre, glass-enclosed water park with retractable roof. Hello, two-season resort…. Also new is the 57-room, ski-in, ski-out Tram Haus Lodge (free in-room Wi-Fi included), with three new restos, and the Ice Haus, an NHL-sized skating arena that can accommodate 1000 spectators.
