Plenty of fish in the sea?

A 2006 study released by the journal Science predicts that most of the world’s fisheries will collapse in 2048 -- that’s unless we start harvesting seafood in a sustainable manner, of course.

Enter the Vancouver Aquarium’s Ocean Wise, a conservation program that helps markets, restaurants and consumers make ocean-friendly decisions. How does it work? Look for their logo, pictured here.

The Ocean Wise symbol on a menu or display case means that that seafood species is: a) abundant and resilient to fishing pressures; b) well managed with a comprehensive fishery plan; c) harvested in a method that limits by catch and damage to marine habitats. Delish.
