Peru's last stop

When Peru: Kingdoms of the Sun and the Moon was at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts this past spring, over 100,000 people visited. If you wanted to be number 100,001, but missed your chance, don’t despair: the exhibit’s second and so far final North American stop will be at the Seattle Art Museum October 17 through January 5, 2014. It’ll feature sculptures, pottery, textiles, paintings and gold and silver ornaments spanning 3000 years, and will include pieces from the Mochica, Chimu and Inca cultures, and objects of the Colonial and Viceroyal eras too. Of the 350 works of art on show, 100 of them had never been seen outside of Peru. Adults US$17; teens and students US$11; free for kids under 12. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays. tel: (206) 654-3100; seattleartmuseum.org.
