Porter Airlines joins the big leagues

The little Toronto-based Porter Airlines isn’t so little any more. Porter has quickly grown from an upstart start-up to a major competitor on the big Eastern Canada routes, and now it’s expanding its service, with flights leaving several times daily from Toronto to New York, Chicago and, as of last month, Boston, and this month expanding its Halifax presence and going all the way out east to St. John’s. Just imagine: there may soon be a time when more than two airlines compete for your dollars. With future routes planned out west and a new partnership with Steam Whistle Brewery that provides free beer to every flier, Porter makes a pretty genial third.
