Room to fly
If, like me, you’re a tall person who gripes about legroom on planes, TripAdvisor’s new search features might give you one less reason to complain. The flight search engine now lists legroom for each flight and also lets you filter flights by amenities such as power outlets and televisions. You can also see luggage fees and legroom upgrade options. For many flights user-submitted seat photos are available to give you an idea of what you’re booking. Like me, you’ll probably still pick the airline with the cheapest price and complain about the seating anyway, but at least you’ll be forewarned. For the record, Porter is listed as “spacious” while WestJet and Air Canada flights are usually “average,” with some “spacious.” US-based discount companies Spirit Airlines and Allegiant Air are “tight.” tripadvisor.ca/cheapflightshome.
