Screen, but don’t touch

Did you see the video of the airport security worker patting down a six-year-old child in New Orleans? Selena Drexel's daughter, Anna, moved during the electronic screening causing a blurry image and requiring the pat down. Her parents’ request that she be rescreened instead was denied. They were so outraged they posted the video on YouTube. Now, months after the April ordeal and many others like it, the Transport Security Administration, says it’s changed its policy. Airport security workers will be instructed on how to repeatedly screen young children, which should reduce, but not necessarily eliminate the pat downs. The TSA is apparently working on other child-screening policy changes too and an announcement will come soon.
