Sipping Quebec

When we think of Canadian wine country, we usually think Ontario or BC, but what many don’t know is that Quebec has one too — and it’s less than an hour south of Montreal. La Route des Vins is a scenic 132-kilometre drive, with plenty of cosy B&Bs, restaurants and farms selling everything from duck, elk and cheese to honey and cider. And of course, there are plenty of vineyards to visit and most are open year-round. We were pleasantly surprised to find that many of the vintners produce ice wines and nearly all offer dessert wines. Most of the wineries require reservations, so make sure you call ahead.
