Air Canada's big carry-on crackdown
Air Canada has added staff to check-in counters and security checkpoints at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport to make sure that carry-ons conform to size and weight limits. Approved bags will get a tag. Those that don’t measure up will be checked and charged $25. The stricter checks started at Pearson on May 25; they’ll begin at other airports in June. Carry-ons cannot be larger than 23 x 40 x 55 centimetres and they can’t weigh more than 10 kilograms. For a baggage guide: aircanada.com/en/travelinfo/airport/baggage/index.html.
