The bike-friendliest city

Two wheels may be better than four when you visit Montreal. The city is doubling its bike paths to 800 kilometres and has introduced a public bike program called Bixi. Five bucks gets you 24-hour access to the system. The first 30 minutes on a bike are free with surcharges for additional half-hour increments ($1.50 for the second half hour, $3 for the third etc...). Check the bike back in after 25 minutes and grab a new one to avoid the charges. [](
