You’re invited to Nunavut’s party!
This summer’s hottest tourist destination? Nunavut. Okay, well, not hot in one sense of the word — the average temperature in July, the warmest month, is 7.7ºC — but it’s nevertheless a great time to head north to celebrate the territory’s 10th birthday. Our glamorous Governor General was clearly impressed when she visited last month and visitors will be too when July 9 rolls around and all 27 communities across the territory invite the world to participate in Nunavut Day festivities including community feasts, dancing, games and more. Nunavut Tourism, a government-affiliated nonprofit, can help coordinate travel and arrange all sorts of tourism experiences, from polar-bear watching and fishing to rock climbing and kayaking.
