QUEBEC CITY, QC The holidays are over and you’re pooped. You’ve had enough family gatherings and gift giving to last you the rest of the year. A getaway would be great, but your budget is tight and your schedule even tighter. City slickers might consider a weekend at the Auberge Le Vincent in Saint-Roch, an area that’s become one of the city’s trendiest, complete with bars, restaurants and shops. Housed in a structure from the late 1880s, the auberge (French for “inn”) opened in 2006. Industrial in style (brick walls, contemporary furniture and metalwork), the inn’s theme is Van Gogh. There’s a huge sunflower that curves along one of the exterior walls and the floor of the lobby is a rendering of
Starry Night. There are 10 rooms, each with an open shower. Doubles start at $109 between November and April, except during carnival (February 1 to 17 this year). Breakfast is included. (888) 523-5005.
