The cosy Crown Jewel Resort Ranch has its own Highland cattle, Scottish blackface sheep, beehives and orchards on hectares of Cape Breton wilderness. And on their eco-culinary outing, you’ll pick fiddleheads, chanterelle mushrooms, sorrel, clover, mint, ground ivy and wild apples (depending on the season). Back in the kitchen, you’ll get hands-on experience with the chef, melding your bounty with other locally sourced ingredients to create a four-course tasting menu. $200 per person. Room rates are $330 per couple, three meals included. .
