Toronto’s secret “anti-restaurant”

There are no burgers at Charlie’s Burgers. There doesn’t appear to be any Charlie either. It has no set location and although its nameless employees serve food and drinks to paying customers, it spurns the label “restaurant” and calls itself an “anti-restaurant.” Diners eager to try Charlie’s Burgers, the new, super-secret, underground supper club in Toronto, must apply by email to be invited — and find out on which street corner they’ll find directions to the restaurant — then pay $110 cash for an incredibly fancy, but also incredibly unusual dinner. Strange as it sounds, the first iteration received very positive — albeit somewhat befuddled — reviews from those few foodies who gained admittance.
